What dietitians miss in Utah
- Utah calls its credential certification, but it is one of the 19 states that enacted the Dietitian Licensure Compact, in 2025. The compact counts title-protection authorizations as licenses.
- A Commission finance committee noted in 2026 that Utah plans to set its compact privilege fee equal to its renewal fee. No fee is adopted.
Does Utah license dietitians?
Utah certifies dietitians rather than licensing them. CDR registration as a registered dietitian documents the education, supervised practice and exam requirements, so most RDNs qualify on their registration. Whether the act bars uncertified practice or only the title could not be confirmed from the statute.

Is Utah in the Dietitian Compact?
Utah has enacted the Dietitian Licensure Compact (2025), but no state issues compact privileges yet. Until they start, practicing here takes the state's own credential.

Telehealth dietitians and Utah
No telehealth registration was found. The Academy lists Utah's telehealth provisions in Title 26B as requiring the state credential.
Does Utah credential non-RD nutritionists?
Utah's act certifies dietitians only. No nutritionist credential was found.
- No separate nutritionist credential
How often does a Utah dietitian credential renew?
Certification renews on a two-year cycle, with the renewal date set by DOPL's general rule for all professions.
- Renews every 2 years
Licensing in Utah?
For a license, we prepare every supporting document and a question-by-question guide, request your verifications, and track it to a decision; you complete, sign and submit the application. License by endorsement is $599 per state.
